2008-2009 BPW/PA OFFICERSPresident - Barbara E. SchmouderBarbara has been an active member of BPW/PA for 20 plus years. She originally joined the Pottstown Local, but due to her husband’s work relocation, she moved and transferred her membership to the Hughesville Local in District 6 (Bradford (Troy only), Clinton, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Snyder, Tioga and Union Counties). She presently calls the Jersey Shore BPW home, but she still remains active in the Hughesville Local. She served as Hughesville, as well as Jersey Shore Local President, two terms as District 6 Director and nearly all District Chairs. At the State level, Barbara served as various Chairs, Recording Secretary, and Second Vice President. President Elect and is presently the President and member of the Executive Committee. She has also served three years on the BPW/USA National Individual Development (ID) Committee and assisted with the development of the new ID program. During the past five years she has also been facilitating the new program across Pennsylvania. As a strong supporter of BPW, Barbara has specific ideas on creating the best future for the organization: be there, be hungry, be open-minded, be confident and be authentic. Barbara has a degree in Accounting, which she obtained after her children were raised and they all went to college at the same time. She is presently self-employed as a Home Health Aid and also works as a Pampered Chef Consultant. Barbara is an active member and Assistant Treasurer of the Jersey Shore Garden Club, a member and former Treasurer of the Jersey Shore Town Band in which she plays B-flat clarinet. After being a life time member of the Girl Scouts of America, two years ago Barbara became Central PA Adult Program Coordinator. She also enjoys speaking engagements on Vintage Hats, Herbs and Herbs of the Bible. Barb lives in Jersey Shore with Larry, her husband of 46 years. They have two adult children, Lisa, who lives in Jersey Shore, and John, who lives in Shartlesville, PA. President Elect - Janice G. ElenskyJoining BPW in 1989, Janice has been an active member of the Curwensville Attendance at the Policy In Action Conference in Washington DC, the Serving as District Four Director for three years with a focus on Within Janice’s Local she has served many chairs and committee members and Active in her community in many capacities including Board member of the Married for 32 years to husband Gary with daughter & son-in-law, Kristin and Janice will continue to serve the Federation through determination of work Vice President - Denise L. On a local level she served as President, Vice President, & chair of various committees. On a District level she served as District 2 Director, Asst Director and Membership Committee Chair. On the State level, she served on the Membership Committee and currently as Vice President. Denise is a Vice President at PNC Bank. She began her career in 1973 as
a Secretary and has held the position of Branch Manager, Sector Manager of 6
full service branch offices in 3 counties, Business Development Officer,
Licensed Financial Sales Consultant, and Business Banker. During her
career she has received recognition by receiving several awards - Award Winning
Performance, Circle of Excellence, Pebble Beach Winners Weekend, PNC Brokerage
Anchors Away, Quality Performer, Elite Advisor, Top Pyramid Award, and
Performance Office of the Year Manager four different times. Denise was a
2005 Female Civic Leader Nominee and In addition to her banking career, Denise has been a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for the past ten years. She actively participates in public relations programs and community involvement. Denise serves on the Executive Board of Indiana County United Way, Chairs the Commerce Division and is founding member of Special Grants Committee. She is a founding member and past President of Indiana Business Women, Past Board member of Talus Rock Girl Scout Council, and founding member and current President of the Indiana County Commission for Women. Denise resides in Indiana with her husband of 34 years, Bob. They have three sons, 29 year old Chuck, 27 year old Mike and 23 year old Steven. Denise enjoys being the grandmother of 4 year old Anthony. Treasurer - Elizabeth (Liz) Leeperlleeper@jimmy.org (work) lleeper@gifitalrazor.net (home) Liz is a 34 year member of the Indiana local and has served chair of almost all the committees and as Recording Secretary, 1st & 2nd VP and President and has been serving as Parliamentarian for the last 8 years. She has served District Two as Recording Secretary – several times, 1st & 2nd Asst. Director and Director (twice). She has been chair of two State Conventions and has only missed attending one in the last twenty years. Liz lives with her sister and has two grown children and four grandchildren--if you ask she will be glad to tell you all about them. Liz has worked as the Assistant to the Executive Director of The Jimmy Stewart Museum for the last ten years. Her duties include all the accounting, managing the museum store, working with organizations who wish to tour the museum and also the schools in the Indiana area for group tours of their student. Prior to the museum she was an insurance agent for 23 years and also did the accounting for the agency. She worked for Ugite (Amerigas) as the “General Office Policy & Procedures Manager” traveling to 29 offices in five states, hiring, training, retraining, and h favorite part of the job firing when necessary. Liz’s goal is to do the best job possible for the “Best Federation in the Land”. Corresponding Secretary - Beth MooreBeth joined Jersey Shore BPW in 1988. She has chaired committees and served several terms as Treasurer and LO President. She has also served on committees at the District level, most recently as Assistant District Director and District Director. Beth was born and raised in and around Washington, D.C. She graduated from Yokohama American High School in Yokohama, Japan, and received an Associate Degree in Accounting from Strayer Business College in Washington, D.C. After graduation Beth held a position as Secretary/Bookkeeper for an Attorney in Silver Springs, Maryland. She was also Secretary for the Military Police Group and then an Accountant for the Base Commissary in Okinawa where her first child was born. Part time jobs while raising her children include school bus driver, assistant to a tax accountant and Area Coordinator during the 1970 US Census. Beth and her husband of 41 years, Richard, moved their family to Woolrich, PA in 1978. They raised 4 children and have 11 grandchildren. When the family moved to Woolrich, Beth began a 6 month temporary job at Woolrich, Inc. This turned into a permanent position for 26 years. At the time of her retirement in 2004 she was an Assistant Credit Manager. Beth has an active church life and enjoys sewing, reading, working puzzles and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She is honored to be Corresponding Secretary and will proudly serve the Pennsylvania Federation of BPW in this capacity. Parliamentarian - Donna E. WeinsteinDonna E. Weinstein resides in Phoenixville with her husband of 41 years,
Richard. She has two grown children and three adorable grandchildren. Recording Secretary - Kathleen MohanKathleen joined Eastern Delco BPW (District 10) in October of 2004 and 8 months later had the honor of being named the 2004 BPW/PA Virgin Allan Young Careerist. Thereafter she served as BPW/PA Chair for the Virgin Allan Young Careerist program for the 2004/2005. Since joining BPW/PA in 2004 Kathleen has served on the local, district and state levels in various positions. At the local level she has served as 2nd vice president, 1st vice president, membership chair and young careerist chair. At the district level, Kathleen has served as Virginia Allan Young Careerist Chair, membership chair and is currently the district treasurer. Kathleen has served the federation as BPW/PA Virginia Allan Young Careerist Chair and membership committee area 3 member for two years. She chaired the BPW/PA booth at the 2007 Pennsylvania Governor’s Conference for the BPW/PA membership committee. Kathleen is a graduate of Ridley High School in Delaware County and the
Strayer University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Kathleen has been married for 8 years to Joe and they live in Ridley Park. Kathleen has two small dogs (Snowball and Casper) and one rescue dog (Ebony), which are spoiled rotten.
